Come inside our doors..............

The first thing you see

upon entering are the display cases......one decorated seasonally, and the other housing
several trophies won in past years by athletic teams representing Waynesville.    Also, hanging on the wall is an afghan made especially for the Waynesville 125th Celebration, held in 2000.  The rack holding the afghan was made by a former Waynesville resident,
Vernon Fletcher, who now resides in Missouri.

On top of the trophy case, sits a frame containing pictures and memorabilia of Hilda Humphreys, who bestowed a generous endowment to the Waynesville Library.  Miss Humphreys was born, raised and attended school at Waynesville and worked her adult life in Clinton.    She was never married.  The Library has been able to purchase some much needed equipment from this endowment, on which you will find more information on the pages that follow.

FACING TO THE RIGHT............is the Children's Room, which contains tables and chairs more suited to children, and the children's books and reference materials.   Each Thursday afternoon is devoted to children's crafts, and during the summer, there is an extensive reading program, covering several weeks.    There are also special events held celebrating various holidays throughout the year, including a large party for Halloween, and
a visit from Santa for Christmas.

CONTINUING TO THE RIGHT.............is the WIKLE ROOM........which houses
the Copier, Laminator, and Rental Videos.   A new die-cut machine which produces
several different cut out shapes was recently purchased with money that was
gifted to the Library from Hilda Humphreys.   This new equipment will enable the
Library to expand on the crafts and services it offers.

A  large table enables the room to also be used for Library Board Meetings.

BACK OUT INTO THE CHILDREN'S AREA, AGAINST THE NORTH WALL, AND TO THE LEFT,
IS OUR COMPUTER AREA..........there are 2 computers available for public use.

I
This computer is for use by
Adults Only.  The other computer may be used by both children and adults.

CONTINUING PAST THE COMPUTERS, THROUGH THE DOORWAY, YOU WILL FIND
OUR ADULT ROOM.........which houses books, and magazines appealing mainly to adults.
